But it’s also one of the top food destinations in Belize, with some incredible places to eat. We basically ate our way around the island and have listed all the best restaurants in Caye Caulker, whether you’re craving a hearty breakfast, an affordable bite to eat, or a romantic dinner with sunset views.

The northern part of the island, across the Split, is quieter with fewer options, while the southern village area has the highest concentration of eateries. Ice and Beans Café is a beachfront coffee shop on North Front Street, near some of Caye Caulker’s best hotels, known for its relaxed island vibe. This popular spot serves high-quality Belizean coffee, smoothies, and light breakfast foods like bagels, mini doughnuts, and bubble waffles. With seating right on the sand, it’s a great place to relax by the sea, swinging in a hammock or enjoying coffee with a view. Try a funky frappuccino flavour like peanut butter, paired with a fresh cinnamon roll or waffle. We loved grabbing drinks from here in our reusable cups before diving and got quite a few stamps on their loyalty card, despite not staying in Caye Caulker long-term.

2. Namaste Café

Namaste Café is a peaceful café and yoga studio located on Avenida Langosta, in the centre of Caye Caulker Village. The open-air setting offers a peaceful start to the day, with organic coffee, cold brew, smoothies, and homemade breakfast options like egg casseroles and fresh fruit bowls. It’s a favourite for health-conscious visitors, and we loved starting our day with a drop-in yoga class before a delicious brunch – you have to try their coffee with a wholesome breakfast.

3. Errolyn’s House of Fry Jacks

A casual breakfast spot on Middle Street, Errolyn’s House of Fry Jacks is one of the most popular breakfast spots in Caye Caulker and specialises in Belize’s signature morning dish: the fry jack. These deep-fried dough pockets are filled with eggs, cheese, beans, or ham, and served fresh and hot. The menu is simple and pretty affordable (although not very vegetarian-friendly), making it a go-to for both early risers and late breakfast seekers, and there’s normally a queue of tourists outside. The egg-and-cheese fry jack is a local favourite and a must-try for first-timers.

Eating well in Caye Caulker doesn’t have to break the bank. We should know, as we love eating out, but save our money for snorkelling in Caye Caulker. From take-out joints and local bakeries to beachside BBQs, these affordable spots serve up delicious Belizean flavours and quick bites that keep both your belly and your budget happy.

4. Jenny’s to Go

Jenny’s To Go is a small take-out joint on Crocodile Street in central Caye Caulker, serving quick and flavourful Belizean and Latin American dishes. It’s best known for its stuffed fry jacks, especially the versions filled with beans, tomatoes, and jalapeños. We found them cheaper and more vegetarian-friendly than Errolyn’s House of Fry Jacks, and we were the only tourists ordering here as locals picked up their breakfast orders. The food is affordable and made to order, making it a great option for breakfast or lunch on the go. Try the signature fry jacks or ask the ladies cooking what they’d recommend!

Beachside BBQs, including popular stalls like Bryse’s on Front Street, offer Caribbean-style grilled meats right on the sand. The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for enjoying an affordable meal in Caye Caulker with ocean views. You have to try the iconic BBQ lobster-and-rice combo.

Il Pellicano is a cosy Italian restaurant known for its wood-fired pizzas and handmade pasta. Located near the south end of Front Street, it offers a romantic and rustic setting with a charming garden patio. The menu includes Italian classics made with fresh ingredients and lots of local seafood, and it’s one of the few places you’ll find wine in Caye Caulker. The lobster ravioli, pesto pasta, and margherita pizza are delicious dishes – we had such a nice time here celebrating our 11-year anniversary, we nearly forgot to take any photos!

16. The Lazy Lizard

Located at the Split, the Lazy Lizard is Caye Caulker’s most iconic bar, known for its prime location, party atmosphere, and bold slogan: ‘A Sunny Place for Shady People’. You’ll find a rotating selection of 3 brews on tap, alongside occasional guest beers and cans. The atmosphere is more laidback than some of the island’s party bars, with shaded seating that’s ideal for a relaxed drink near the water.
